For crafters who want to support British sheep breeds and their wool
Welcome to Woolplay

When it comes to life, we spin our own yarn, and where we end up is really, in fact, where we always intended to be.

Woolplay has grown out of a small flock of rare breed sheep and their annual fleeces!  It's been a journey of discovery and reconnection with a simpler life, grounded in what we humans have been doing for centuries.  I'd like to invite you to join me in cherishing the amazing sheep breeds we have in this country, supporting the dedicated wollen mills we still have supporting small sheep farmers like me and taking pleasure in the slow lane of woolly activities be it hand dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet and much more.

We're at the beginning of our retail journey intially selling fibre and yarns, mainly from our own sheep (I really can't use it all myself much as I try!) and those of a couple of fellow local small scale sheep farmers.  Later this year we plan to extend the range so we can supply yarn from other British rare breed and heritage sheep.  And we hope to open a physical studio and shop at our smallholding on the Norfolk / Suffolk border and also sell spinning wheels and rigid heddle weaving looms.  So watch this space!
